Today I'd like to share with you some pictures from Baby Girl's birthday party. We had a few friends over on a rare and glorious Danish afternoon to celebrate our girl turning one. Snacks were simple: cupcakes, fruit, frozen yogurt, lemonade, and rice crispy treats to take home. We ate. We drank. We opened presents. The kids went to bed exhausted, which is a pretty good sign that good times were had by all.
Here are some party deets:
Homemade Funfetti Cupcakes recipe ('cause they don't sell the boxed stuff here)
I used this handy frosting color chart for making pretty colors.
This was the first time in all my baking adventures that I had attempted cupcakes and I searched the interGoogles for videos on how to frost a cupcake a la Magnolia/Hummingbird/Primrose Bakery. One video from Magnolia Bakery said that it took 40 hours to perfect their signature swirl! In the end, this demo from Seattle's Cupcake Royale helped me the most in developing my signature swirl.
The big hit of the party though? These super simple fro-yo popsicles found on Pinterest, of course!
I'd love to tell you that I'm going to be around more next week, but I'm not going to lie to you. Baby Girl has decided that one 20 minute nap a day MAYBE - if you're lucky, Mom, - is all she's taking. Which means Momma don't have a lot of time to blog. Or read. Or do the laundry. ***deep sigh*** I'm really really going to try though. I miss this space tons.
Have a fabulous weekend! And thank you so very much for continuing to visit this little space of mine!
